The six most important things we’d like you to know about us and what we think.
01
Our name is Japanese for 'system' It’s a little more complicated, of course, but that’s essentially what it means. We chose the name Kei because we like to approach our work mindful of the bigger context and general connectedness of things.
02
It’s all connected. We look at problems through both microscopes and telescopes, taking into account the complex relationship between parts and wholes. Systems thinking helps us uncover hidden connections, tackle challenges from multiple angles, consider all stake-holders and potential impacts, consider the wider ecosystem, and create solutions that extend beyond each immediate challenge.
03
We’re a nose-to-tail operation. Kei bridges thinking and doing. We’re riddled with the battle scars that come from having spent years connecting tangible outcomes without falling apart in the process.
04
We’ve seen things. As strategists, designers, futurists, researchers, storytellers, technologists, engineers and entrepreneurs, we have years of experience of conjuring ideas from intuitions, and molding them into actual things that can make little dents in the universe. Our diverse expertise allows us to apply insights from one field to challenges in another.
05
The future can be bright. This shouldn’t feel like a controversial statement. We often work for purpose-led organizations because like us, they want to create positive change in their industries and communities, and they believe problems have solutions. And in our experience those who think that solutions exist are more likely to find them.
06
Our impact outlasts us. We don't just deliver results; we cultivate capabilities. By working alongside our clients and transferring our expertise, we ensure the positive changes we create together persist long after our engagement ends. We don’t just make the thing for our clients, we make factories that help them make the thing.
Our Structure
Consulting is changing and we've redesigned the agency model for efficiency and value. Our structure centers on two roles:
This streamlined approach removes unnecessary management layers, improving responsiveness and value for clients. We expand our team as needed with trusted collaborators.
We employ AI and advanced tools to enhance research, simplify routine tasks, and allow our team to tackle complex problems. This reduces costs and overhead while increasing client value.
Our structure brings:
Top-tier strategic thinking
Smooth transition from strategy to execution
Efficient resource use
Quick adaptation to changing needs
We see this model as a step forward in strategic consulting, merging expertise, technology, and lean organization to achieve meaningful results for our clients.
