Introduction

In the dynamic world of digital advertising, Lazaza emerged with a clear vision: to democratize ad creation through artificial intelligence. Their platform promised to help small and medium-sized businesses "Create Ad Campaigns In Minutes. Save Time, Make Money."

This new company is being launched at a crucial time for small business marketing. According to a 2023 survey by Constant Contact, 63% of small businesses plan to increase their digital marketing budget this year, with social media marketing (58%), website improvements (46%), and email marketing (35%) being the top priorities. Moreover, a 2023 report by Salesforce indicates that 51% of small and medium-sized businesses are currently using AI in their marketing efforts, with another 27% planning to implement it within the next 12 months.

The Challenge
Phase 1: Brand Identity and UI Audit

Lazaza initially approached Kei with a two-fold challenge:

  • Design a brand identity that would make their AI technology feel approachable and empowering to small and medium-sized businesses.
  • Audit their platform's user experience to better deliver on the promise of simplicity and efficiency.

For Lazaza’s new identity, we focused on concepts that blended sophistication with warmth, aiming to counteract the often impersonal feel of AI branding. Our team crafted a distinctive logotype that appears both hand-drawn and refined, carefully addressing readability issues. In a concise three-week engagement, we delivered Lazaza a brand identity that successfully combined playfulness with professionalism.

The Challenge
Phase 2: Enhancing the User Experience (Ongoing)

Impressed by Kei's work on the brand identity, Lazaza invited us back to tackle a larger challenge: refining their platform's user experience. This aligns with a crucial need in the small business sector.

A 2023 survey by Keap revealed that 35% of small business owners spend 10 or more hours per week on marketing activities, with 22% saying they don't have enough time for effective marketing.

Our focus includes:

  • Streamlining the user journey to create an intuitive, app-like experience
  • Ensuring users always understand their position in the ad creation process
  • Aligning the interface design with the established brand identity
  • Creating a 'magical and organic experience' that simplifies complex AI-driven processes

As we refine Lazaza's user experience, we're integrating key features like seamless platform integration across major ad networks,

AI-powered ad generation, and user-friendly performance tracking. This is particularly important given that a 2023 study by the Small Business Administration found that 74% of small businesses use social media for advertising, with Facebook (86%), Instagram (60%), and LinkedIn (55%) being the most popular platforms.
