A leading vehicle intelligence company is seeking a Product Designer to shape the user experience of software platforms critical to autonomy.

This role sits at the intersection of autonomy, hardware, and software. It requires design expertise, an understanding of complex operational environments, and the ability to translate intricate technical requirements into intuitive interfaces.

About the position:

This is a full-time, in-office role based in the Bay Area. You'll collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and advocate for user research methodologies that prove products meet real needs.

  • Compensation: $120,000–$200,000 annually (based on experience and scope)

What you will do:

Design Leadership (50%)

  • Lead the end-to-end design process from concept to launch: research, wireframing, prototyping, testing, and visual design
  • Translate complex operational requirements and technical constraints into elegant, user-centric solutions
  • Develop high-fidelity mockups and interactive prototypes that communicate ideas and gather feedback
  • Contribute to and maintain a design system ensuring usability and scalability across products

User Research (30%)

  • Conduct research with users to understand workflows, pain points, and operational needs in mission-critical environments
  • Advocate for the user throughout product development, ensuring products are intuitive, efficient, and reliable under demanding conditions
  • Establish, run, and synthesize user research to inform design decisions

Cross-Functional Collaboration (20%)

  • Work iteratively with product management, engineering, and subject matter experts to refine designs
  • Communicate design decisions clearly to diverse audiences—from technical teams to leadership

Who you are:

Required

  • 4+ years as a Product Designer, UX Designer, or similar role focused on complex software applications
  • Portfolio demonstrating user-centered design principles, interaction design, and visual design across desktop and mobile
  • Experience with real-time, interactive interfaces: automotive products, video game UX, or simulation tools with complex input schemes and visual feedback
  • Proficiency with Figma and prototyping tools
  • Experience establishing and running user research
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • U.S. Citizen, eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Strongly Preferred

  • Experience with 3D visualization, geospatial data, or real-time data display

Bonus Points

  • Background in autonomous systems, simulation, or command-and-control applications
