Motion Graphics Designer

REMOTE - CONTRACT

We're looking for a Motion Graphics Designer who makes complex ideas feel simple and memorable. You'll create work that clarifies concepts, builds brand presence, and gives abstract strategies a visual life. You understand how movement guides attention.

The role:

  • Flexible contract position
  • 100% remote collaboration
  • Project rate: $18-$23k based on experience and capacity
  • We anticipate this engagement to span 4-6 weeks of work, including concept development, storyboarding, animation, and revisions
  • Potential path to permanent position for the right candidate

You are:

  • A designer who thinks about pacing, rhythm, and how information unfolds over time
  • Someone who can translate strategic concepts into compelling visual narratives, animations, and templates
  • Skilled at finding the right visual language for different audiences and contexts
  • Naturally curious about when motion clarifies and when restraint serves better
  • Experienced in creating work that serves both immediate communication and sustained brand building
  • Someone who understands the mechanics of animation—easing, layering, keyframes, transitions
  • Thoughtful about how motion design reinforces broader creative systems

Daily focus:

  • Create motion graphics that make complex ideas accessible and engaging
  • Design sequences that guide attention and build progressive understanding
  • Collaborate with strategists and designers to extend brand systems into motion
  • Develop animations for digital products, social platforms, presentations, and campaigns
  • Ensure motion work aligns with established visual identity while exploring new directions
  • Adapt work efficiently across formats and platforms without losing core intent

Required capabilities:

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating thoughtful motion design across contexts
  • 4+ years of experience in motion graphics and visual design
  • Mastery of After Effects, Premiere, and related Adobe Creative Suite tools
  • Understanding of typography in motion, kinetic composition, and visual hierarchy
  • Ability to work efficiently within brand systems while pushing creative boundaries
  • Experience creating motion content for web, social, and multimedia presentations
  • Clear communication about creative decisions and project rationale
  • Comfort with evolving requirements and managing projects from concept through final delivery

Would help if you had:

  • Experience with Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere, Cinema 4D and other animation tools
  • Understanding of sound design and how audio shapes motion work
  • Familiarity with emerging tools like Runway ML, SuperAGI Motion Suite, or AI-assisted workflows
  • Experience designing for multiple platforms, horizontal and vertical formats
  • Background in illustration, graphic design, or related visual disciplines
  • Interest in how motion enhances product interfaces and user experience
  • Experience working in interdisciplinary creative teams

We believe the most effective motion design emerges from genuine understanding of what needs to be communicated and why. If you approach animation as a tool for building clarity and belief rather than just adding visual interest, we should talk.
